I was just reading an article in Chatelaine that Sydney Loney had written about chronic pain and there was a small part there about Canadian triathlete Paula Findlay ......A 23 year old athlete who had been taught that there was no pain that could not be overcome ....She suffered a labral tear in her hip in 2011...The 23 yr old who was number one in her sport said on her blog that she had decided her battle with pain was a mental one and she would never give up ...Well the following photos tell the story of what chronic pain can do to a person and its not mental it's real .......This is what happen when she came in last at the 2012 Summer Olympics.... She finished the race as everyone cheered her on but at what cost .....These photos are her story of pain

The article went on to say that there is so much guilt that comes with the pain .....When you have to say I can't do that because of my pain your not taken seriously now imagine what guilt when you have no test result just the words it's not this so it must be Fibromyalgia ....There are so many stereotypes associated with pain and how we deal with it sometimes even doctors can't or won't help

I think the following video explains it all ....We who suffer with Fibromyalgia just want understanding and to know we have a support system with family and friends ....People who will never make us feel like our pain is not real ......... We need to know we have someone there to help raise us up

There was a time when I questioned if there was a God ......I now after many months of searching and wondering know that we have to believe something and if we don't what do we have .......My best friend in the world told me the other day when I'm in pain or I can't sleep just try to talk to God and ask for peace and it worked ....So maybe there is a God and maybe not but I need to believe something.............................

So I would like to add a suggestion to the following list on what you can do to ease your pain and that is to whisper for peace when you feel you can't go on

In the Chatelaine article there were ten suggestions on how you could ease your pain at home...

1. Yoga

2. Practise Tai Chi

3. Gentle stretch exercises

4. Acupuncture

5. Go for a coffee or Tea

6. Sip Ginger Tea

7. Spend 10 mins on your game system shooting enemies

8. Listen to  music that you like...Music that calms you

9. Fall in love ....Love really do conquer all

10. Try to remain Positive

The article clued up by saying we need to teach others that people with pain are not a bunch of wimps, malingerers or drug seekers ....They need to see we are real people with a real disease that needs to be treated....

“But is it such a bad thing to live like this for just a little while? Just for a few months of one's life, is it so awful to travel through time with no greater ambition than to find the next lovely meal? Or to learn how to speak a language for no higher purpose than that it pleases your ear to hear it? Or to nap in a garden, in a patch of sunlight, in the middle of the day, right next to your favourite fountain? And then to do it again the next day?”
